A total of nine entries were received for the event – two for the Autotest and seven for the PCA . A rather low entry but probably adequate to test out the new venue at Matthews Auto Salvage. Clerk of the Course Lee Matthews had laid out four tests on two sites of differing surfaces: one being on the approach road to the yard and the other on the adjacent field. Each competitor had four runs at each test, giving a total of 16 for the day.
The tests on the tarmac lane in damp conditions were well received, followed by a totally different surface at the end when everyone ventured into the field.
Fastest man of the entire day was Sion Matthews who won the Autotest in his Astra Gsi. Congratulations to Endaf Davies and son Iwan on winning the PCA in the red Fiesta, who just managed to overhaul Mark Campbell on the final round.
It turned out to be a great event and sincere thanks to Matthews Auto Salvage for the facilities and thank you to Lee Matthews and his team for organising the event; Dafydd Edwards for the admin side and signing-on, and to Paul Cross and Gruff Thomas for marshalling.

The 2024 C&A Motor Club StreetCar series continues with a .multi-surface Autotest and Production Car Autotest (PCA) at the premises of Matthews Auto Salvage on Sunday 25th August. These events are suitable for standard every-day road cars, although having a good handbrake will make the day much more enjoyable. A passenger (navigator) is required, and you can even dual enter in the same car, doubling the fun. Test diagrams will be published on this page in due course, which will be mainly forward, although there are reversing elements. The tests will be suitable for beginners as well as the more experienced competitors.
Drivers and passengers will require a valid C&A Motor Club membership card and a 2024 Motorsport UK Competition Licence of at least RS Clubman grade. The RS Clubman licence is available free of charge online – see below.
The minimum age for an Autotest driver is 16 years, and a PCA driver is 14 years and a PCA passenger, 12 years old. If the PCA driver does not hold a full driving licence, they must carry a passenger who holds a valid licence and be experienced in Autotests or Autosolos.
